TORONTO — A New York developer hopes his new app will bring Israelis and Palestinians closer to ending their conflict “one swipe at a time.”
Matthew Nolan created Verona, a free dating app in which Israelis and Palestinians can meet and form relationships across the world.

Verona is similar to popular dating app Tinder. Users sign up, upload a picture, and write what they’re most passionate about. They can then begin looking for matches in their city, country, or abroad.
Users are shown profiles of others and swipe left if they aren’t interested in connecting or swipe right if they are. When both users swipe right, they can begin chatting and setting up in-person meetings.
Nolan said two of his friends — one from Israel and the other with Palestinian heritage — who are dating influenced him to create the app.
