For the past few weeks I have been bouncing around the idea with a colleague about the concept of running a formal trial with volunteers from the Canadian Forces who are presently on the Veterans’ Affairs waiting list for PTSD treatment.
The main driving idea behind the study is comparing the day to day function of veterans who are given a combination of vitamin, mineral, and nutraceutically based therapy vs. non volunteers. In a preferably large enough population group, this study could put to rest several outdated theories regarding PTSD and result in the improvement of much of the population’s day to day existence; at the very least it does nothing at all.
The question really is at this point, how do we finance it, and how and who do we approach about such a thing?
